Jerusalem - The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency (BMAQ), the executive arm of the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, implemented the second phase of its 2026 “Warm Winter” campaign on Wednesday at Augusta Victoria Hospital (Al-Muttala‘) in Jerusalem. The initiative was funded by the Moroccan Association for the Support of Reconstruction in Palestine.
This phase involved distributing winter clothing to patients in need and their accompanying family members staying at Augusta Victoria Hospital.
The supplies included winter clothing sets for women, men and children, as well as traditional robes, to help ease the burden on beneficiaries, particularly those stranded in Jerusalem or facing hardship during their hospital stay.
Ibrahim Al-Khatib of Augusta Victoria Hospital’s Community Action Centre welcomed BMAQ’s initiative, highlighting the Agency’s concern for patients and children and its continued support for Jerusalem’s healthcare institutions and the people they serve.
Al-Khatib noted that the initiative builds on BMAQ’s ongoing support for the hospital, including a back-to-school initiative launched about a month earlier and assistance with the renovation of the hospital pharmacy, alongside other activities to address the facility’s needs.
He expressed his gratitude to His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Chairman of the Al-Quds Committee, and to BMAQ for their continued efforts to support Jerusalemites and strengthen the city’s healthcare institutions.
Jalal Hamdan, Head of the Psychological Support Department at Augusta Victoria Hospital, said the initiative offered children more than winter clothing, conveying solidarity and compassion while providing emotional support throughout their treatment.
Launched on 28 January 2026 under the slogan “Together, We Bring Warmth and Hope,” the first phase of the “Warm Winter” campaign benefited 120 families across 12 Bedouin communities southeast of Jerusalem Governorate. The initiative included reinforcing the roofs of rural homes exposed to harsh weather and distributing blankets, mattresses, heaters and winter clothing.
